I cannot find enough words to explain how amazing all of the staff have been, absolutely nothing was too much trouble and truly vocational people.

Set in beautiful gardens, the home is full of character and charm.

Arranged over three floors, our bedrooms can be personalised to make them a real home-from-home, and residents are able to enjoy our beautifully landscaped gardens for relaxing, socialising and entertaining.

All our 33 bedrooms are provided ready-furnished with the essentials for instant comfort, and we happily encourage our residents to bring their own treasured furnishings and belongings if they would like to do so.

Amongst our range of well-equipped areas and facilities, there’s always space for quiet contemplation, or for enjoying the company of kindred spirits, and for relishing in interests and pursuits.

Independent living accommodation is also available at The Malthouse in The Stables and The Lodges.

Specialising in residential support for the elderly, The Malthouse is a traditional building with a quirky and charming interior set in beautiful grounds with a courtyard and a private rear garden. Inside the home is a warm and homely atmosphere, and you’ll be greeted by a care team who pride themselves on friendliness and caring.

As one of Dorset’s most respected care homes, The Malthouse holds a Gold Standards Framework (GSF) accreditation for excellence in care. Independent living options are also available at The Stables and The Lodges, both located within the same grounds.

About The Malthouse

Daily activities and entertainment are central to the quality care at The Malthouse. We offer a variety of person-centered activities tailored to residents’ individual needs, encouraging them to continue their favorite hobbies or try something new.

Our small people carrier allows residents to enjoy regular excursions to local attractions. We are also passionate about keeping residents connected to the community, collaborating with local groups, schools, and organizations to ensure active involvement in local activities.

Activities and Entertainment

Dining is a key part of our care, not just for health and wellbeing but to ensure residents can enjoy eating what they want, when they want.

We take pride in offering traditional home-cooked meals and cater to all dietary needs. Our kitchen team engages with residents daily to gauge food satisfaction, and meals are always a top discussion point in our regular resident meetings. Menus rotate seasonally and are constantly reviewed.

Our catering team is committed to using local suppliers to create fresh, high-quality homemade dishes every day.
